Gentry's Birthday

Hurray for being a quarter of a century old! I'm so glad I have such an awesome husband to spoil!

Gentry doesn't like normal cake, so I decided to try making a cheesecake. A lot of work put it, but I think it turned out pretty well.

I totally rock at wrapping presents. Not. The quilt is actually what Gentry's parents gave him for his birthday, so I figured it wasn't so bad.

The card I wrote it... and filled with money! Haha

He was showing me a funny picture on his phone.

Reading the card... five minutes in and he already says I'm too camera happy.

He knew I'd be taking a picture, so he gave me this cute shot while he opened his first present.
Guesses? A truck box!

Checking it out...

He was surprised to see there were things to open inside!
Wool socks!

Belt!

This is the angle you get when you take a picture of your husband from INSIDE the truck box...

... and THIS is what it looks like inside the box when said husband closes to lid to prove that you can, indeed, fit a person inside it.

After presents we were off to the movies!
Kid show? Totally worth seeing! While all the little kids crying and running around wasn't enjoyable, I don't think we've laughed that hard at a movie in a while. So great!

Next we went shopping for a bit, then got Mexican:
This is pretty much our favorite Mexican place in Cedar City. The food's good when you order it, and it's great as leftovers!

I'm so glad I got to celebrate the birth of this incredible man. I'm so lucky that he's a part of my life, and of my eternity! I love everything about him, he makes me a better person, simply by being him. I'm grateful for all he teaches me, and that he is such a hardworking, sweet, and caring gentleman.

Happy 25th Birthday, sweetheart!

Random

When your in a program at a school with the same people for two years, you end up becoming pretty close. We basically call each other family. When that's the case, you get very comfortable with each other.
If you can't tell, this is a three-person spoon in the training room.

Gentry and I were on our way home from Wal-Mart, and we indeed saw the "Pizza Hut" car going through the Panda Express drive-through. We were laughing so hard we couldn't even get a decent picture.

Who knew the wrapper of a cough drop could be so motivational?

Phonebooks

My athletic training program has been trying to raise money to go to the National Athletic Training Conference in April. So this is how we started our fundraising.
Ever wonder how all those random phone books end up on your doorstep? Yep, Cedar City, we delivered them for you. While it earned us a lot of money, those were a couple of very long weeks spent delivering door to door.
So when I found one on my own doorstep, I refused to even touch it. I think Gentry ended up finally bringing it in the house.

Christmas Day (sorta)

Being the poor college students that we are, Gentry and I both worked Christmas Day. So we celebrated and opened presents on Christmas Eve.
My handsome hubby didn't want me to take pictures of him, haha.

He spoiled me rotten, that crazy guy. He got me chocolate (he knows me so well!), headphones, and this cutie here!
Even though Gentry doesn't like me taking pictures, he still knew how much I wanted a nice camera.
I'm so in love. With him, not necessarily the camera.

I was having too much fun taking random pictures and figuring out my camera.
At the end of the day, we hung out with Hadley and Taylor playing games.

It was an amazing first Christmas together!

Ward Christmas Party

Being the Activities Committee, we planned our ward's annual Christmas party. We spent a lot of time getting everything together, and while I again am a slacker with the camera, I did manage to get a few shots of the people who were willing to perform.

McCall and Kristen (not pictured) did amazing on their pieces, everyone loved it!

The food was pretty good too, if I do say so myself. Sonny Boy's catering? Excellent.

Wresling (What the...?)

Gentry officiates wrestling duels and tournaments during the holiday season. So basically from November to February, I get to spend lots of time watching wrestles. Not too bad, and sadly I don't have any pictures of him actually reffing, or any wrestlers for that matter, but you do manage to find some interesting clothing choices in the stands.
Is it sad for me to have thought a lot of this fashion of showing off your boxers had faded out? But then again, I suppose I'm not around high schools anymore, just college kids who have managed to figure out the proper use of a belt.

Okay, so I know that the whole "ripped jean" thing is popular, but seriously??? Explain to me 1) how that is dress code, and 2) how is that warm? You are wearing a coat and practically cut off Daisy Dukes, for heaven sake!

Temple Square

Every year since I was in high school, I have gone up to Temple Square in Salt Lake and seen the Christmas lights. I was in shock when Gentry told me he hadn't been since he was in high school (hint: that was a while ago!) So when we spent a couple of days with my family before Christmas, we planned to go up. We invited my parents and siblings along, but with sick kids and other goings-on, only my Dad and Hannah were able to come with us.

Hannah was pretty excited to get to go up to the temple and take a picture in the little alcove.

I married such a handsome fella...

It was so wonderful to get to go celebrate one of my favorite Christmas traditions with my husband!

Christmas Trees & Lights

Cedar City puts up strings of lights all along downtown Main Street in the winter. One of the many reasons I love living here. Yes, these pictures were taken hurriedly as I was driving down Main.

Gentry and I had seen a Christmas tree that was done in blue all over, and we both really liked it, seeing as that's our favorite color. So when I found blue ornaments at Wal-Mart, I couldn't help myself. We didn't anticipate the angel glowing different colors.

We really wanted a Nativity scene, and we fell in love with the Willow Tree version. So with what was left of our wedding money, we got it!

This is Mexican hot chocolate. I had tried it a few years back and really liked it, so I decided we needed to have some this year. Not bad, just make sure to add sugar.

Catch-Up and Random

Yes, I literally haven't posted anything in months, and I would love to say it's because I'm busy like I always do. But mostly, just lack on Internet and anything interesting to say. I didn't really think much had happened this past while, but as I was looking over the pictures I'd taken (yes, on my phone) I realized that we have had some pretty fun stuff happen lately.
So I'm now going to play catch up, and mostly post the random photos that I've taken over the past bit. We'll see how this goes.
